The weary travelers trudge back to the Careful Carvers Trading Post after their hard won goblin battle and upon finding out Henry's healing skills (Malkey finally seeing why Hannah might be keeping him around), his wife, and the lot of them are revived. Naive Hung makes sure to pay the woman compliments, she is pretty (Hair like golden straw, never seen so up close. He thinks). Henry makes pancakes and you eat as Hannah unfolds her story of the hooded human female that came through the goblin cave with Malkey in tow and that it seems she had made some sort of deal. Sai from the rough goblin translations she was given, contemplates out loud if the word 'propesky' that they were saying actually means prophecy. It sure would sound right, but looking over at Malkey; that doesn't seem right at all since the 'propesky' has to do with half bloods and he looks like a regular old gnome.
They decide to rest a bit and stay one more night over at the Carver's place. Hung shows his new friends the amulet that the monks of Othe gave him. Malkey takes a look and shares with him that it is not a good idea to go flashing that around here, that God is on the no go list in the Dwendalian empire. Henry in his gratitude gifts them a couple maps of Wildemount, a compass, a calendar and some good rations for their travels wherever they may be. Malkey finally learns where he is and shows Hung where the Kryn Dynasty and the source of that symbol is. They all decide to help Hannah retrieve her heirloom longbow from the cave that she left there because well, she was unconscious.
They return to the cave now on a quest for the bow, and are surprised to hear the sound of footsteps preceding them; retreating into the dark as pitch cave, though nobody has a problem seeing…(Malkey contemplates Sai); except Hannah but she has sharp ears and danger senses. Malkey sends Nutbag after the sound and he reports back to Malkey of the woman drawing feverishly on the floor of a cavern room. They're not quite sure what to do so they try to sneak ahead, but she hears you coming!
Everyone holds off in a standoff, Sai trying to come in with some sense but whoosh the cloaked figure is now behind them but her hood has fallen. Malkey recognizes her as Jenna from the guild sect up in Rexxentrum! What in the world!?! Malkey presses for information about his wife, but the woman knows not. She tells him only that he's being hunted down for reasons of a prophecy of cross-breeds that they think Malkey is a part of. She decided to go against orders to give him the chance of a different life. But now she's failed them, and Malkey too. Malkey starts to get angry and she puffs again and disappears, but this time they have no idea where.
They easily find the bow after the encounter and Hung continues to look around and finds an old wooden chest. Inside, he finds a silvered jewelry box which Sai was happy to open with her bare hands - locks aren't an issue (Hung impressed, Sai apologetic), where they find some goodies including a handkerchief embroidered with the initials J.I. Sai has an aha moment, this must be what Hannah saw Jenna handing over to the goblins for passage and those must be her initials! She also thinks that the only one that should be worried about any half-blood prophecy is Hung. Trying to convince herself more than the others. They divvy it up and decide on their next destination as they crawl up into the Careful Carvers' loft for the last time on this journey.
