Your 'brand' should include 3 things in order to be beneficial in connecting a client to your business. If you're thinking of starting a business or are in the branding process, grab a pen and a notebook, and see what your brand is about as you follow along!
1. Identity!
Yes of course you already know your name, but it's more than just a name. What does your name stand for? What are the values you want your customers to know when they see your brand.
How do you incorporate values into your brand? Colors of course! Colors evoke emotions in the human psyche and will connect that emotion with your company.
“All colors arouse specific associative ideas…” ~ Yves Klein
2. Audience
Okay, you have your color palette chosen and you're ready to move forward. The next step; know your audience! Think of your target market, their demographics, how can you benefit them directly. Are they more clean lines or curves, abstract or direct. Try to think of them in a textile form or a shape of some kind that can encompass the variety of your market base.
“Life is all about making decisions, the precision or vagueness of which has an effect on the texture of our existence, our moral fabric and the rational side of our persona.” ~ Dr Prem Jagyasi
3. Organization
This is the fun part! You have colors, textures, images, and now it's time to put them all together in a cohesive way to appeal to success! Start with the logo as this will be the most crucial part of the branding process as that will be on EVERYTHING you make or do for your company. From there it's smooth sailing!
